26th Annual Bill Broughton Fishing Tournament
This event was postponed-from May 9, 2020, and moved to Sept 12, 2020 due to COVID- Unfortunately the County still cannot yet allow a event for the size group expected. We have postponed for the earliest available date the County will confirm for us.
What is it? The Everglades District Fishing Tournament is an event in which Cub Scouts, Webelos, Scouts, and Siblings compete for various prizes within their divisions. This is a weigh and release fishing rodeo. You may keep fish that are in season and of legal size.
When & Where? Sept 12, 2020. This event will be held at Homestead Bayfront Park, 9698 SW 328 St., Homestead, Fl. 33033.
Time? 8:00 am Registration;
8:30 am Tournament Begins
11:30 am – Final Weight In.
Cost? All Scouts & Siblings – Early Bird Price $10.00.
Early Bird Registration on or before Sept 04, 2020
Late Registration – $ 15.00 after Sept 05th until Sept 10th, at Noon.
All Walk Ins are $ 15 at the event.
Refund? Refunds are not available, but fees are transferable to another Scout before event starts.
Supervision? All Scouts must have two- deep leadership in accordance with Youth Protection guidelines. Lions and Tigers MUST have a parent
Food? Your registration includes lunch.
Awards; Awards will be presented
What to bring? Water bottle, water, fishing pole, hat, and camp chair.
Bait is included in the registration fee.
Weather? This is a “rain or shine” event.

Insurance: Liability, as well as Sickness and Accident Insurance are provided for all registered members and leaders of the South Florida Council.

Additional Fee? You may have to pay a fee entering Bayfront Park for each vehicle parked.
Social distancing, hand santizing, and masks must be worn by all persons at event.
No person may participate, bring Scouts, or be at the event whom:
- Has a temperature greater than 100 degress. Parents/Guardians included
- Has any COVID symptoms.
- Has been exposed to any person whom has had COVID within the last 14 days
- Does not arrive wearing their own properly fitting personal mask/face covering of mouth and nose
- If you were tested for COVID (for any reason) in the last 14 days, and you have not already received back NEGATIVE results do not participate
