What? Getting Camp Everglades ready for the  nice camping season. The main effort will be to get the camp mowed and the roads cleared of overhanging brush. Other potential projects include painting shelters, painting signs, painting composting restrooms, rebuilding fire rings or cleaning the main shelter. We always welcome suggestions on other service projects that people would like to do at the camp!!

Who? This is a perfect opportunity for Scouts BSA members and Venture members to earn service hours. Webelos participation is also welcome when supervised directly by adults. Sorry but this work is inappropriate and unsafe for younger cub scouts.

What to Bring? Please bring your mowers, string trimmers and other yard tools. Large commercial mowers such as bush hogs, Dixie choppers, etc are especially needed. Although we do have a tractor and bush hog at the camp, other types of riding mowers as well as push mowers are also useful and needed. Don’t forget your hats, gloves, bug spray, and suntan lotion, and masks.

Masks must be worn at all times while at Camp Everglades. Groups size must be 10 or less and social distancing is highly encouraged.

Many hands make light and quick work!

Food? Drinks and lunch Saturday will be provided by South Florida Council.

Camping? Limited camping will be available for those interested in staying overnight. You must contact Cliff Freiwald to make camping reservations for this weekend. Camping is at no charge (for this event) for all those whom pre-register and are approved. All campers must agree to assist with work projects on Saturday during the day to prep camp  for all Scouting Units to camp.
