2023 National Jamboree

Join us    July 19-28, 2023      at the Summit Bechtel Scout Reservation

Scouting’s flagship event is one-of-a-kind. It’s a gathering of approximately 40,000 Scouts, leaders, and staff that showcases everything that is great about the BSA and its members. Held every four years, the Jamboree is an amazing opportunity for participants, volunteers, and visitors to experience the best of Scouting, all in one place. Features include; one of the longest zip line courses in North America, a world-class skate park, ATV offerings, treetop canopy tours, rock climbing, patch trading, stadium shows, and much more!

Details 

Location: Summit Bechtel Reserve in West Virginia.

Among the things included in your fee are:

  • Bus Transportation and/or Airfare
  • Luggage fees
  • Hotels, meals and hotel security
  • Jamboree training, meetings, and other events
  • Jamboree gear
  • Jamboree event fee including meals
  • Dedicated Scouting professional and support staff to facilitate and assist in a successful Jamboree experience
  • Bus transportation to all tour locations and to and from Jamboree with dedicated bus drivers
  •  Pre-Jamboree tour and a tour team to organize and facilitate all touring aspects
    • Info for pre tour to be announced once finalized for pre tour July 17-18, 2023 – prior to Jamboree

Youth Participants 

The Jamboree is open to all who are qualified on a first-come, first-served basis.  Qualifications to attend the National Jamboree include:

  • Registered member of a Scout Troop, who has completed the 6th grade, or will be at least 12 years old (but who has not yet reached their 18th birthday by 8/1/2023) and be a first class Scout by July 1, 2023. –OR–
  • Registered member of a Venturing Crew (has not yet reached their 21st birthday by 8/1/2023)
  • Must live and abide by the Scout Oath and Law.
  • Must abide by the Jamboree Code of Conduct.

At the time of registration, Scouts will be placed in a Jamboree troop/crew that is closest to where you live by gender, unless that troop/crew is full. There will be one Boy Troop and one Girl Troop. We desire to also have one full Crew. If that troop/crew is full the Scout will be placed in the closest available troop/crew.  Each Scout will be a member of a patrol within their unit. Every contingent member will be required to participate in and have the following:

  • Monthly troop or crew meetings- starting in late summer 2022
  • A completed National Jamboree Medical form signed by a licensed physician
  • Attend the all-contingent gathering
  • Attend at least one overnight training encampment.
  • Have all fees paid no later than  February 20th, 2023

All applicants must FIRST go to https://jamboree.scouting.org

and complete a 2023 National Jamboree online application  to attend the 2023 National Jamboree.

Once this is completed we will be notified locally and will approve the Youth Applications online.

 

The below SF Council National Jamboree Application must be completed for all Youth Applicants that wish to be a part of the

South Florida Councils 2023 National Jamboree Contingent and then it forward to

     Council Youth Application —   2023 Nat Jamboree Youth Application

Pricing and Registration 

All costs include everything listed above.  Other out-of-pocket expenses may include (but are not limited to) additional uniforms, patches, and spending money.

  • $2,350 each person- estimated currently- this amount may change- increase-
  • HOWEVER we are offering a guarantee– if you pay your $ 500 deposit, and have $ 2250 total paid in full by July 1, 2022, you will be PAID in FULL no matter if any increases occur. If the entire jamboree package decreases overall you would likewise be rebated that difference.  This expires on July 2, 2022- after that date the estimated total is $ 2350.00

Jamboree Scoutmasters will provide information on fundraisers to help with the cost of Jamboree.

We will be solidifying our 2023 Jamboree Council Contingent Staff during the later spring of 2022

 

A non-refundable reservation fee of $500 must accompany the initial registration. Full payment of all fees must be received no later than  February 20, 2023

Convenient payment plan is available after making the $ 500 non refundable deposit of 9 monthly payments, and also there is an option to pay in full up front. We are offering a discount for a full payment up front  (Using payment installment plan will include service fees which will currently be an estimated   $ 2350 total)

Total Payments = $ 2350.00–This is estimated and WILL change- a fee will be added for those using payment plan

An option is available to make larger installment payments or to pay in full if desired

  • $500 non-refundable per person at time of registration
  • After November 15, 2022 all other fees paid in are Non Refundable if you withdraw
  • After December 15, 2022- your paid slot may be purchased by another person on the Wait List if available.
  • Any participant who falls behind on payments may lose their space to someone on the Wait List.
  • If someone purchases your paid slot after November  15, 2022- you may be eligible to a refund minus any unrecoverable fees.

Adult Council National Jamboree Contingent Leader Information

Each unit requires minimum four adult leaders. In a troop, there is a Scoutmaster and three Assistant Scoutmasters, all fulfilling specific duties during the trip. In each crew, there is an Advisor and three Associate Advisors. Troops will be a Girl or Boy Troops and adequate leadership will be recruited to staff each following YPT.

Crews may be co-ed with correct leadership to meet YPT.

 

Please do not begin the official registration process (payment system) until you have been approved as a leader by South Florida Council to attend with the Council Contingent.

2023 Jamboree with touring is $2350 (estimated amount and this will change). Jamboree fees include everything listed above. Other out-of-pocket expenses may include (but are not limited to) additional uniforms, patches, personal items and spending money.

We highly suggest that regular payments be made,   Full payment must be received no later than February 20, 2023, in order for the Staff Leader to attend. If paid in full by July 1, 2022 the total is $ 2250, if paying with installments beyond that date the estimated total is $ 2350
