PI – BALOO Training

What is it? Baloo (Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation) training is a course for all Cub Scout leaders, Den leaders, and Committee member to help plan and carry out any outdoor event for your Pack or Den including pack camping overnighters. Baloo training has been updated to give every Cub Scout leader a more practical hands-on component off skills used to deliver Cub Scout adventures. The new program is now a TWO (2) DAY PROGRAM WITH OVERNIGHT CAMPING. You will learn the focus of Cub Scout-level outdoor program, acquire the skills to plan and carry out a successful overnight activity; and increase your knowledge of the resources available to you.

Who? Any and all Cub Scout leaders, Den leaders, and Committee members – BSA policy states that at least one BALOO-trained leader must be in attendance on a pack overnighter and outdoor events.

When? Saturday February 10; 8:00 am to Sunday February 11, 2018, 12:00 pm; Registration opens at 7:30 am. Must be preregistered! (And completed online pre-request)

Where? Camp Elmore, 3551 SW 142nd Ave Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33330.

Cost? $20 per participant, price includes:  3 meals. Ice water will be available. No refunds, funds are transferable.

Pre Requisite: “BALOO Prerequisite Training” found at My.Scouting.org. Bring completed certificate to Saturday’s registration.

Registration Deadline? Wednesday February 7, 2018.

Insurance? Liability, as well as Sickness and Accident Insurance, are provided for all registered members and leaders of the South Florida Council.
