Finance:  ♦Over $181,000 in Camp Cards sold!  Congratulations to all of the Scouts and Units who met their goals and helped finance many great activities and adventures this summer and in to next year.  A big thanks to every Scout, Leader, and Parent who sold, supervised selling, maintained records, or purchased a few Camp Cards.              ♦ The Friends of Scouting (FOS) Campaign is drawing to a close.  Have you made your pledge?  Has every family in your Unit been asked to support Scouting?

Unit Service:  ♦ Seminole District's Boy Scout Leader Training is set for this fall.  The training team has met, plans are in place, and it will be great.  Now is the time for you to REGISTER!  SMS (basic indoor training) is on Wednesdays Sept. 29, Oct. 6, & Oct 13, from 7:00pm to 9:00pm at Davie United Methodist Church.  You must attend all three sessions.  The price is just $10 and includes all 3 sessions.  OLS (outdoor leadership training) is an outdoor campout that begins Friday evening Oct 15 and ends Sunday morning Oct 17 - location to be determined.  The price is just $35.  All adult leaders are strongly advised to attend both trainings.  Direct contact leaders for Boy Scouts are defined as Scoutmasters and Assistant Scoutmasters and per new requirements MUST be trained.  Webelos Leaders are urged to attend so they understand what they are preparing their Webelos Scout for.  Committee Members should, at a minimum, attend the SMS training sessions.  Register for BOTH SMS & OLS and save $5 by paying just $40 for the combined training.  Online Registration is available now.  Register today!

Membership:  ♦ It's time to make plans to recruit, recruit, recruit! Contact George Gilmore with any questions regarding promoting in your local public school when the new school year begins.  Remember - every new Scout brings along a potential new adult leader (or two) as well.  Good news this year - the initial registration fee will be lower as you will only charge for the months left in your charter year, typically four or five, as charters expire in December.  This will make the initial expense for new Scouts/Parents much less.

Program:  ♦WOW!  206 Happy Cub Scout Day Campers enjoyed a fun-filled week of activities at Vista View Park.  The real Super Heroes turned out to be Roman Maciag and his team of adult and youth volunteers.  Neither heat nor rain could stop them from presenting a week of crafts, sports, games, and activities.  Great job by all!  Thanks.       ♦ Many Troops are headed off to Summer Camps this month.  We wish you safe travels, safe camping, and lots of fun.      ♦ Have you scheduled your new year planning meeting?  Now is the time to make great plans for the coming Scouting year.  Have all of your calendars at hand, Council, District, and Troop, so you are sure to be at all of the great events.
